긍휼은 힘입니다
COMPASSION IS A FORCE
예수님께서 불쌍히 여기는 마음을 가지사 손을 내밀어 그에게 대시며 그에게 이르시되, 내가 원하노니 정결할지어다, 하시니라 (마가복음 1:41).
우리가, 다른 사람들의 고통을 완화시키려는 강한 갈망인, 긍휼에 관하여 우리의 이전 공부에서 말했던 것을 떠올려 보십시오. 긍휼은 행동하게 하는 것입니다. 긍휼은 힘입니다.
당신이 예수님을 또 그분이 사역하셨던 방식을 공부할 때, 당신은 그분이 종종 긍휼을 따라 움직이셨음을 목격했을 것입니다. 그분이 누군가에게 긍휼을 가지셨을 때마다, 혹은 누군가를 향한 긍휼로 움직이셨을 때마다, 그분은 상황을 바꾸실 어떤 것을 행하셨습니다.
긍휼은 사람들을 가르치시도록, 그들을 먹이시도록, 그리고 그들을 치유하시도록 그분을 움직이게 했습니다. 마가복음 6:34은 말씀합니다, “예수님께서 나아오사 많은 사람들을 보시고 그들이 목자 없는 양 같으므로 그들을 불쌍히 여기는 마음을 가지사 많은 것을 그들에게 가르치기 시작하시더라.” 마태복음 14:14은 말씀합니다, “예수님께서 나아오셔서 큰 무리를 보시고 그들을 불쌍히 여기는 마음을 가지사 그들의 병든 자들을 고쳐 주시니라.”
긍휼은 나인이라 불리는 도시에서 과부의 외아들을 다시 살리시도록 그분을 움직이게 했습니다. 예수님께서 과부를 보셨을 때, 성경은, “...그녀를 불쌍히 여기사 그녀에게, 울지 말라, 하시고” (누가복음 7:13) 라고 말씀합니다. 그 다음에 그분은 관을 만지셨고 죽은 사람에게 일어나라고 명령하셨고, 그는 다시 살아났습니다.
마태복음 20:30은 예수님을 좇아 소리를 지르며, “다윗의 자손이여, 우리에게 긍휼을 베푸소서!” 라고 말했던, 눈먼 두 사람에 관하여 우리에게 이야기 합니다. 예수님께서 멈추셔서 그들이 무엇을 원하는지 물으셨고 그들은 그들이 시력을 받기 원한다고 대답했습니다. 성경은 말씀합니다, “이에 예수님께서 그들을 불쌍히 여기사 그들의 눈에 손을 대시니 그들의 눈이 즉시 시력을 받고 그들이 그분을 따르니라” (마태복음 20:34).
그러므로, 주님처럼, 우리는 긍휼로 충만해야 합니다. 우리가 긍휼로 움직일 때 변화가 옵니다. 우리는 오늘 그분의 정확한 형상입니다. 그분은 당신이 긍휼로 움직이기를 그리고 어려움에 처한 사람들을 위해 무언가를 행하기를 기대하고 계십니다, 당신의 세상에 있는 사람들의 삶들과 환경들을 바꾸십시오. 당신은 조치를 취하도록, 위안을 주도록 그리고 상처입은 세상에 하나님의 사랑과 친절하심의 그릇이 되도록 성령님에 의해 권한을 받았습니다.

사랑하는 아버지, 나는 어려움에 처한 사람들에게 치유, 강함, 위안과 소망을 가져오는 긍휼로 움직이셨던 예수님의 본보기들로 휘저어졌습니다. 나는 조치를 취하도록, 위안을 주도록, 상처입은 세상에 당신의 사랑과 친절하심의 그릇이 되도록 당신의 영에 의해 권한을 받았습니다, 예수님 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

COMPASSION IS A FORCE
And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean (Mark 1:41).
Recall what we said in our previous study about compassion: a strong desire to ease the pain of others. Compassion compels one to action. Compassion is a force.
When you study Jesus and the way He ministered, you’d observe that He was often moved by compassion. Every time He had compassion on, or was moved with compassion for someone, He did something to change the situation.
Compassion moved Him to teach the people, feed them, and heal them. Mark 6:34 says, “And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.” Matthew 14:14 says, “And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.”
Compassion moved Him to raise the only son of a widow back to life in a city called Nain. When Jesus saw the widow, the Bible says, "...he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not” (Luke 7:13). He then touched the casket and commanded the dead man to get up, and he came back to life.
Matthew 20:30 tells us of two blind men who cried after Jesus, saying: “Son of David, have mercy upon us!” Jesus stopped to ask them what they wanted and they replied that they wanted to receive their sight. The Bible says, “So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him” (Matthew 20:34).
So, like the Master, we’re to be full of compassion. Change comes when we’re moved with compassion. We’re His express image today. He’s counting on you to be moved with compassion and do something for those in need; change the lives and circumstances of those in your world. You’ve been empowered by the Spirit to take action, offer comfort and be a vessel of God’s love and kindness to a hurting world.
PRAYER
Dear Father, I'm stirred by the examples of Jesus who being moved with compassion brought healing, strength, comfort and hope to those in need. I’m empowered by your Spirit to take action, to offer comfort, and to be a vessel of your love and kindness to a hurting world, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
