우리는 그분 안에 있었습니다

WE WERE IN HIM

 긍휼이 풍성하신 하나님께서 친히 우리를 사랑할 때 보여 주신 자신의 크신 사랑으로 인하여 심지어 우리가 죄들 가운데서 죽었을 때에 우리를 그리스도와 함께 살리셨고 (너희가 은혜로 구원을 받았느니라) (에베소서 2:4-5).

 우리가 방금 읽은 성경 기록이 얼마나 심오한 부분인지요! 사도 바울은 그가, “심지어 우리가 죄들 가운데서 죽었을 때에 우리를 그리스도와 함께 살리셨고...” (에베소서 2:5) 라고 말씀했을 때 주님의 십자가에 못 박히심, 죽으심, 장사되심과 부활하심에 있어 그분과 우리의 연합을 강조하는 영적 진리를 설명합니다.

 예수님께서 십자가 위에 계셨을 때, 우리는 십자가 위에 있는 자들이었습니다, 그분은 우리의 대리자이셨습니다. 그분이 죽으셨을 때, 우리는 그분 안에 있었습니다. 그분이 장사되셨을 때, 공의의 마음에서, 우리는 모두 장사되었습니다. 바울이 골로새서 2:15에서 상세하게 알려주었듯이 그분이 지옥에 가셔서 사탄과 어두움의 악한 영들을 패배시키셨을 때, 하나님의 마음에서, 우리는 그분 안에 있었습니다. 우리는 그리스도 안에서 사탄을 패배시켰습니다.

 다음으로 성경은 하나님께서 죽은 자들로부터 예수님을 일으키셨음을 보여줍니다, 그 일이 일어났을 때, 우리는 그분과 함께 일으켜졌습니다. 에베소서 2:6은, “또 함께 일으키사 그리스도 예수님 안에서 우리를 하늘의 처소들에 함께 앉히셨으니” 라고 말씀합니다. 이것이 바로 하나님께서 지금 어떻게 우리를 보시는지 입니다. 예수님께서 행하셨던 모든 것은 우리—온 세상—를 위한 것이었습니다, 우리는 그분 안에 있었습니다.

 그것을 생각해 보십시오, 예수님께서 새로운 생명—부활의 생명—을 가지고 죽은 자들로부터 일으켜지셨습니다, 그것이 바로 우리가 오늘 우리 안에 가진 생명입니다, 왜냐하면 그분이 그러하심처럼, 우리도 이 세상에서 그러하기 때문입니다 (요한일서 4:17). 당신이 그리스도를 영접했을 때, 당신은 예수님께서 지옥에 가셨을 때 가지셨던 그 생명을 받지 않았습니다, 당신은 죄가 없는 의로우신 예수님의 생명을 받았습니다.

그분은 우리의 죄들을 가지고 지옥으로 가셨고, 마귀를 패배시키셨고, 죄에 대한 완전한 형벌을 치르셨고, 하나님의 의로써 되살아나셨습니다. 할렐루야! 이제, 새로운 탄생으로 인해, 우리는 또한 그분 안에서 하나님의 의가 되었습니다, “하나님께서 죄를 알지 못한 그분을 우리를 위하여 죄가 되게 하신 것은 우리가 그분 안에서 하나님의 의가 되게 하려 하심이라” (고린도후서 5:21).

기도

사랑하는 아버지, 나를 생명의 새로움 안으로 안내하신 주 예수님의 죽으심, 장사되심과 부활하심으로 인해 감사드립니다. 나는 모든 정사들, 권능들, 강력과, 불리는 모든 이름보다 훨씬 위인, 지배와 큰 영광 안에서 그리스도와 함께 앉혀졌습니다. 할렐루야!

 로마서 6:4 확대 역본 그러므로 그분과 함께 우리는 죽음으로의 침례를 통해 장사되었느니라, 그래서 그리스도께서 아버지의 영광스러운 [능력]으로 말미암아 죽은 자들로부터 일으켜지신 것처럼, 우리도 [언제나] 생명의 새로움 가운데 살고 행동하게 하려 함이라.

로마서 4:25 확대 역본 그분은 우리의 악행들로 인해 배신 당하셨고 죽임 당하셨느니라 그리고 우리의 의롭다함 (우리의 무죄선고)을 획득하시고자 [하나님 앞에서 우리의 장부끝을 맞추시고자 그리고 모든 유죄에서 무죄를 선언하시고자] 일으켜지셨느니라.

에베소서 4:24 확대 역본 그리고 하나님의 형상으로, 참된 의와 거룩함으로 [하나님과 같이] 창조된, 새로운 본성 (새로운 생명을 얻은 자신)을 입으라.

WE WERE IN HIM

But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) (Ephesians 2:4-5).

What a profound portion of scripture we just read! The Apostle Paul explains a spiritual truth that emphasizes our union with the Lord in His crucifixion, death, burial and resurrection when he said, “Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ…” (Ephesians 2:5).

When Jesus was on the cross, we were the ones on the cross; He was our substitute. When He died, we were in Him. When He was buried, in the mind of justice, we were all buried. When He went to hell and defeated Satan and the demons of darkness as Paul detailed in Colossians 2:15, in the mind of God, we were in Him. We defeated Satan in Christ.

Then the Bible shows that God raised Jesus from the dead; when that happened, we were raised together with Him. Ephesians 2:6 says, “And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.” This is how God sees us now. Everything that Jesus did was for us—the whole world; we were in Him.

Think about it: Jesus rose from the dead with a new life—the resurrection life; that’s the life we have in us today, because as He is, so are we in this world (1 John 4:17). When you received Christ, you didn’t receive the life with which Jesus went to hell; you received the life of the righteous Jesus without sin.

He went to hell with our sins, defeated the devil, paid the full penalty for sin, and came back to life as the righteousness of God. Hallelujah! Now, by virtue of the New Birth, we also have become the righteousness of God in Him: “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him” (2 Corinthians 5:21).

PRAYER

Dear Father, thank you for the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus that ushered me into a newness of life. I’m seated together with Christ in dominion and great glory, far above all principalities, powers, might, and every name that is named. Hallelujah!
