그것에 당신의 모든 것을 드리십시오
GIVE IT YOUR ALL
형제들아, 아시아에서 우리에게 닥친 우리의 고난에 대하여 너희가 모르기를 원치 아니하노라. 우리가 힘에 겹도록 한량없이 눌려 심지어 생명까지도 단념하고 (고린도후서 1:8).
사도행전 19장에서, 누가는 사도 바울이 복음을 전하는 것을 시작했을 때 그의 유쾌하지 않은 경험들 중 일부를 우리를 위해 생생하게 정확히 포착합니다. 그는 그의 개인적인 위험들과 구금들, 은세공인 데메드리오에 의해 조직된 폭동, 그리고, 22장에서, 지휘관이 어떻게 그를 데려가 막사에서 매질을 당하고 추궁을 당하도록 명령했는지를 이야기 했습니다.

아직 거듭나지 않은 당신의 가족 구성원들은 어떻습니까? 당신은 그들을 위해 전력투구합니까, 혹은 몹시 싫어하거나, 반감을 가지거나 외면하는 것을 피하고자 계속 조용할 것입니까? 그들이 세워왔던 관계들을 잃는 것에 대한 두려움 때문에, 결코 그들의 친구들에게 증언하지 않을 사람들이 있습니다. 얼마나 애석한지요!
당신은 당신의 세대를 위한 증인입니다, 그리고 주님께서는 그들의 증인으로서 당신에게 책임을 물으실 것입니다. 당신은 당신의 세상에 있는 사람들에게 구원을 가져가는 것에 전념해야만 합니다. 당신이 관심을 가지는 것은 당신 한 사람의 몫을 구원하는 일에 관한 것이 아닙니다, 그것은 삶의 안락함들이나 당신이 그것으로부터 얻은 유익들에 관한 것이 아닙니다, 아닙니다! 당신은 어느 사람이 당신에게 줄 수 있는 것 때문이 아니라, 그리스도 주의 영예와 영광 때문에 이것에 관심이 있습니다.
기도
사랑하는 주님, 나는 나에게 맡겨진 이 값을 매길 수 없는 복음을 위해 얼마나 기꺼이 힘을 낼지에 아무런 한계들이 없습니다. 나는 성령님의 능력 안에서 그것을 담대하게 전하고, 어두움의 왕국에서 하나님의 아들들의 영광스러운 자유 안으로 많은 사람들을 구출합니다, 예수님 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

고린도전서 9:16-17 내가 복음을 선포할지라도 자랑할 것이 없나니 이는 필연적으로 내가 해야 하기 때문이라. 만일 내가 복음을 선포하지 아니하면 참으로 내게 화가 있으리로다! 내가 자원하여 이 일을 하면 보상을 얻으려니와 내 뜻에 반하여 한다 할지라도 복음의 분배 사역을 내가 맡았노라

GIVE IT YOUR ALL
For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life (2 Corinthians 1:8).
In Acts 19, Luke vividly captures for us some of the Apostle Paul’s unpleasant experiences as he went about preaching the Gospel. He talked about his personal risks and imprisonments, the riot orchestrated by Demetrius the silversmith, and, in the 22nd chapter, how a commander ordered that he be taken into the barracks to be flogged and interrogated.
No wonder Paul himself recounts, “…in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft” (2 Corinthians 11:23). In his first epistle to the Corinthian church, Paul recalls his experience at Ephesus and said, “…I have fought with beasts at Ephesus…” (1 Corinthians 15:32). In his second epistle, he narrated how in Asia, it became so bad that he felt he and his companions were on death row, but graciously had supernatural deliverance (2 Corinthians 1:8-9).
This same Gospel has been committed to your trust; will you take it lightly or put your all into it? Would you stick out your neck to preach the Gospel to your co-workers or business associates even if it means losing your job or losing out on business contracts you’ve so much desired?
How about your family members who aren’t yet born again? Would you go all out for them, or remain quiet to avoid being hated, disliked or ostracized? There’re those who for the fear of losing the relationships they’ve built, will never witness to their friends. How sad!
You’re a witness to your generation, and the Lord will hold you responsible as their witness. You’ve got to be committed to bringing salvation to those in your world. What you’re into isn’t about saving your head; it’s not about the comforts of life or the benefits you get out of it, no! You’re not into this for what any man can give you, but for the honour and glory of Christ the Lord.
PRAYER
Dear Lord, there’re no limits to how far I’m willing to go for this priceless Gospel that has been committed to my trust. I preach it boldly in the power of the Spirit, delivering many from the kingdom of darkness into the glorious liberty of the sons of God, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
