성경 : 성령님의 작품(서사시)

THE BIBLE: AN EPIC OF THE SPIRIT

모든 성경 기록은 하나님의 영감으로 주신 것으로 교리와 책망과 바로잡음과 의로 교육하기에 유익하니 이것은 하나님의 사람이 완전하게 되어 모든 선한 일에 철저히 갖추어지게 하려 함이라 (디모데후서 3:16-17).

당신이 창세기부터 요한계시록까지 성경을 공부할 때, 당신은 진실로, 성경 전체가 성령님의 작품이라는 깨달음에 이를 것입니다. 모세는, 성령님을 통해, “처음에 하나님께서 하늘과 땅을 창조하시니라...하나님의 영은 물들의 표면 위에서 움직이시니라” (창세기 1:1-2)고 기록했습니다. 이 특출난 신성의 인격—성령님—은 바로 그 시작에서 우리에게 소개되십니다.

잠언서에서, 우리는 우리 안에 거하시려는 그리고 우리와의 교제를 가지시려는 그분의 의도에 관하여 읽습니다. 저자는, 성령님을 통해, 성령님의 갈망이 우리 없이 하늘에서 사시는 것이 아니라, 오직 우리와 함께, 또 우리 안에 계시는 것이었음을, 기록합니다 (잠언 8:30-31).

사복음서들—마태복음, 마가복음, 누가복음과 요한복음—에서 주 예수님께서 성령님께서 어떤 분이신지를 우리에게 전하시고자 더 큰 빛을 우리에게 주십니다, 그리고 마태복음 12:32에서, 그분은 성령님을 거스르는 것에 대해 경고하십니다. 성령님께서는 우리에게 하나님의 임재를 가져오시고 우리에게 하나님의 사랑을 전하시는 분이십니다. 당신은 성경을 읽으며 성령님께서 어떤 분이신지를 놓칠 수 없습니다. 서신서들 전체에서, 바울은 또한 강조합니다, “하나님의 거룩한 영을 슬프게 하지 말라. 그분으로 말미암아 너희가 구속의 날까지 봉인되었느니라” (에베소서 4:30).

성령님을 받아들이지 않은 사람들은 종종 서신서들이 혼란스럽다고 여깁니다. 그들은 서신서들이 그리스도에 관한 엄청난 담화의 서사라는 것을 알면 좋을 것입니다. 서신서들은 오늘날을 위한 특별한 진리들의 개요서입니다. 다른 말로, 서신서들은 지금(the now)을 위한 한 메시지를 가지고 있는데, 그것은 그 메시지의 영원성을 통해서가 아니라 그(성령님)가 말씀하시는 그 분(그리스도)의 영원성을 통해서입니다. (그것은 그 메시지가 영원한 것이기 때문이 아니라, 성령님이 말씀하시는 그리스도께서 영원한 분이기 때문입니다.)

그리고 이 담화에 대한 완전한 이해를 가지는 유일한 방식은 성령님을 통해서 입니다. 성령님의 사역을 인정하고  그분의 사역에 완전히 내어지는 것(순복하는 것)이 얼마나 중요한지요!

사랑하는 성령님, 당신께서 하나님의 왕국의 실재들을 알고 그 안에서 걷도록 나를 인도하심으로, 나는 내 삶에 있는 당신의 사역과 임재를 인정합니다. 내 안에 있는 당신의 임재로 인해 감사드립니다, 당신께서 내 삶의 대장이시기 때문입니다. 당신께서 그리스도 안에서 나의 운명을 성취하도록 나를 인도하시기 때문에 나는 따릅니다. 사랑하는 성령님, 당신의 사역을 통해, 나는 신성의 영광, 지혜와 탁월함을 실연하고(나타내고) 있고, 의의 열매들을 맺고 있습니다, 예수님 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

 마태복음 12:32 또 누구든지 말로 사람의 아들을 대적하면 그는 용서받되 누구든지 말로 성령님을 대적하면 이 세상에서나 오는 세상에서나 그는 용서받지 못하리라.

잠언 8:30-31 내가 그분과 함께하며 자란 자로서 그분 곁에 있어 날마다 그분의 기쁨이 되었고 항상 그분 앞에서 기뻐하였으며 그분의 땅의 거할 만한 곳에서 기뻐하였고 내 기쁨들이 사람들의 아들들과 함께하였노라.

THE BIBLE: AN EPIC OF THE SPIRIT

 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

 When you study the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, you’ll come to the realization that indeed, the whole Bible is an epic of the Spirit. Moses, by the Spirit, wrote, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth…And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters” (Genesis 1:1-2). This extraordinary person of the Godhead—the Holy Spirit—is introduced to us in the very beginning.

 In the book of Proverbs, we read about His intent which was to dwell in us and have fellowship with us. The writer, by the Spirit, pens that the Spirit’s desire wasn’t to live in heaven without us, but to be with us, and in us (Proverbs 8:30-31).

 In the four gospels—Matthew, Mark, Luke and John— the Lord Jesus gives us an even greater light to tell us who the Holy Spirit is, and in Matthew 12:32, He warns against offending the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the one who brings the presence of God to us and communicates the love of God to us. You can't read the Bible and miss who the Holy Spirit is. Over in the Epistles, Paul also highlights, “And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption” (Ephesians 4:30).

 Those who haven’t received the Holy Spirit often find the epistles confusing. If only they knew that the epistles are an effusion of an extravagant discourse of the Christ; they’re a compendium of extraordinary truths for today. In other words, they have a message of the now, not by way of the timelessness of the message, but by way of the timelessness of the man of whom He speaks.

 And the only way to have a full grasp of this discourse is by the Spirit. How important it is to recognize and be fully yielded to the ministry of the Spirit!

PRAYER

Dear Holy Spirit, I acknowledge your ministry and presence in my life, as you guide me to know and walk in the realities of the Kingdom of God. I thank you for your presence in me, for you’re the captain of my life. I follow as you lead me to fulfil my destiny in Christ. Through your ministry, dear Holy Spirit, I’m demonstrating the glory, wisdom and excellence of divinity, bearing fruits of righteousness, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
